History of WiFi

WIFI :
In 1971 aloha net connected the hawaian island with a UHF wireless packet network.aloha net and the aloha protocal were early forerunners to ether net and later the IEEE 802.11 protocals ,respectionely. wifi standards and development history-
            The original version of the standard IEEE 802.11 was released in 1997.It 2 megabits per second.   
        The 802.11b standard IEEE was released in 1999. It 2.4 GHZ  band 11 megabits.Devices operating in the 2.4 GHZ rang include micro wave ovens, bluetooth devices boby monitors cardless telephone and some amateur radio equipment.
         The 802.11 a standard IEEE was released in 1999. It is 54 mbits 5 GHZ .
     In june 2003 a third modulation standard was ratified 802.11g This works in the 2.4GHZ band and 54 mbps.   
          In 2009 standard was ratified 802.11 n this operates on both the 2.4 GHZ and 5GHZ. It operates at a maximum net data rate from 54mbps to 600 mbps.
           In 2013 standard was ratified 802.11ac. Thisworks in 2.4GHZ and 1.3 gbps .
